Description

This hanging heart slate plaque carries a soft watercolour blue tit, perched on a slender pink twig with its blue cap, white cheeks and sunny yellow breast set against a white face. Little speckles of blue and pink paint scatter across the heart around it, as though flicked from a loaded brush, which keeps the whole piece light and lively. A small tag hangs from the cord on the right shoulder, printed with the words HAPPINESS IS HOMEMADE. The heart is 15cm high and 15cm across and only 0.5cm thick, so it sits neatly against a wall or door, and its edges keep the naturally uneven, layered break of the slate.
