Description

The Walker is a single-light outdoor wall lantern built around a tapered rectangular frame in bronze-finished aluminium with clear glass panels and a heritage brass lampholder. The outer frame measures 312mm high by 216mm wide with a 233mm projection from the wall, giving it presence on wider exterior walls and taller entrance doors. The E27 socket accepts bulbs up to 60W (sold separately), with the clear glass allowing full light transmission in all directions.

Designed for front doors, side entries, garage doors and covered porch areas, the Walker pairs an IP44 rating (protected against splashing water from any direction) with a mount plate that fixes directly to a standard UK junction box. The tapered glass cage narrows towards the top, visually lightening the frame while keeping rain out of the bulb area when the fitting is mounted under a soffit or porch canopy. The combination of deep bronze metalwork and warm heritage brass at the lampholder gives tonal contrast without requiring matching door furniture.

The aluminium frame is welded at the corners and powder-coated in a satin bronze that resists fading under UV exposure. The heritage brass lampholder sits proud of the glass, visible through the panels, adding a second metallic accent. The clear glass is bound into the frame with continuous seals, so there are no screws or clips visible on the exterior face. This fitting works in both modern builds with clean lines and traditional properties where the angular profile complements stone or brick detailing.

Frequently Asked

What bulb does the Walker take?

The fitting takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED filament bulb between 6-8W and 2200K-2700K for a traditional glow, or a clear LED globe for a more contemporary look.

Can it be used in exposed locations without a porch canopy?

The IP44 rating provides protection against splashing water from any direction, so the Walker can be mounted on walls exposed to rain. However, the tapered design with the open bottom works best under a soffit or porch roof where rain is deflected. Fully exposed vertical walls in high-wind areas may allow driven rain to reach the bulb over time.

How is it wired and mounted?

The Walker mounts to a standard UK outdoor junction box fixed to the wall. The rear mount plate has fixing points that align with a round or square junction box, and the cable from the mains supply connects inside the back box before the lantern is screwed into place. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician.

Does the heritage brass tarnish outdoors?

Heritage brass is a lacquered finish designed to retain its warm tone without polishing. Over time in coastal or high-pollution areas, some patina may develop on exposed brass components. This is part of the intended aged character of the finish rather than a defect.
