Description
The Wald is an 80cm LED bollard light built from graphite-finished metal with an integrated 12W 3000K LED positioned beneath a circular disc-shaped diffuser at the head. The LED casts warm white light downward through the base of the disc, illuminating the ground in a defined circular pool while leaving the column itself in shadow, creating architectural definition along pathways after dark.
Designed for driveways, pathways, garden borders and commercial landscaping, the 80cm height positions light at knee level, guiding movement along routes without spill into adjacent planting beds or windows. The IP65 rating seals the electronics against dust ingress and water jets from any direction, handling UK rain, pressure washing near paving and coastal salt spray. The graphite powder-coated finish resists corrosion and UV fade across seasonal temperature swings.
The 18cm diameter disc head provides proportional scale to the 80cm column height, avoiding a top-heavy or ungainly profile when installed in multiples at 2-3m spacing. The integrated LED removes bulb replacement as a maintenance task, with the 3000K warm white output matching standard residential exterior lighting temperatures. The column fixes to a buried base plate via grounding bolts, requiring mains AC 220-240V wiring run underground in conduit to each bollard position.

Frequently Asked
What spacing is recommended between bollards?
For continuous pathway lighting, install bollards at 2-3m centres. For accent or marker lighting at driveway edges or garden borders, 4-5m spacing is typical. The 12W output creates a defined pool beneath each bollard rather than broad wash lighting.
Is the LED replaceable?
No. The LED is integrated into the fixture and sealed within the IP65-rated housing. The LED is rated for approximately 30,000 hours of operation, equivalent to roughly 10 years at typical residential use patterns.
How is it installed?
The bollard fixes to a buried base plate via grounding bolts set in concrete. AC 220-240V mains wiring must be run underground in conduit to each bollard position. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician and comply with BS 7671 wiring regulations.
Can it be used in coastal locations?
Yes. The IP65 rating and powder-coated graphite finish handle coastal salt spray, but regular rinsing with fresh water extends the life of the coating in high-salt environments.
