Wabash 1 Light Outdoor Wall Lantern - Bronze

The Wabash is a 1 light outdoor wall lantern in a bronze finish with clear glass panels and chevron-patterned detailing on the frame. The lantern housing a single E27 bulb fitting (bulb sold separately) behind four glass panels set in a die-cast metal frame with a decorative finial at the top. The 195mm projection from the wall positions the light forward of the mounting surface, casting both direct downlight and soft reflection from the bronze finish.

Designed for entrances, porches, patio zones and exterior doorways where downward-angled light is needed for navigation and security, the Wabash pairs traditional lantern form with the chevron pattern cut into the metalwork of each small panel. This geometric detail creates shadow-play when the bulb is lit, adding visual interest beyond the standard glass-and-frame construction. The IP44 rating protects against solid objects over 1mm and splashing water from any direction, making the lantern suitable for sheltered exterior positions such as covered porches or recessed doorways.

The bronze finish is applied as a powder-coat over the die-cast aluminium body, giving a warm metallic tone that weathers naturally outdoors. The 265mm height and 157mm width suit smaller wall areas or pairing in sets of two either side of a doorway. The clear glass maximises light output from the E27 bulb — most users pair the lantern with a warm-white LED of 6-10W and 2700K for an incandescent-style glow without the heat or energy draw of halogen.

What bulb does it take?

The Wabash takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users fit a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for outdoor entrance lighting.

Is it suitable for exposed outdoor positions?

The IP44 rating protects against splashing water and solid objects over 1mm, making it suitable for sheltered exterior positions such as covered porches, recessed doorways and overhanging eaves. It is not rated for fully exposed positions subject to driving rain or direct hose spray.

Can it be installed upside-down?

The lantern is designed with the finial at the top and the bulb holder at the base of the glass enclosure. Installing it upside-down would reverse this orientation and may affect water drainage from the glass panels.

What is the chevron pattern for?

The chevron detailing cut into the metal frame of the small panels is a decorative feature that creates shadow patterns when the bulb is lit. It has no functional purpose beyond adding visual interest to the traditional lantern design.
