Description

The Vonvena is an outdoor wall light with a stainless steel backplate, rounded at the corners, holding a curved white plastic shade that is split by a band of steel across its middle. It stands 35cm high, 18cm wide and 9cm deep, so it sits close to the wall without crowding a doorway or a narrow stretch of brickwork. It takes two E27 bulbs of up to 10W each, and as the bulbs are not included, the colour and brightness of the light are your choice. It is rated IP44, meaning it is protected from splashing water, so it can live outdoors on a house wall.

We would put it beside a front door, along a porch or on the wall of a patio, garden or side passage, wherever you want light on the path after dark and a tidy shape on the wall by day. The white shade keeps the bulbs out of sight, and the plain steel frame sits comfortably against brick, render or modern cladding. Fitted as a pair either side of an entrance, it gives the front of a house a balanced, orderly look that suits newer homes and older ones alike.

The body is stainless steel, and stainless steel resists rust, which counts for a lot on a wall that faces the weather. The shade is white plastic. There is no switch on the light itself: it is switched at the wall and runs on a 220-240V, 50/60Hz mains supply. As a wired-in mains light, it is installed by a qualified electrician. It weighs 0.761KG packed, so it is light to lift into place. The installation instructions come as a download, so your electrician can read them before fitting day.
