Description
The Viritis is a 600mm outdoor bollard light with an integrated 12W LED delivering 3000K warm white light through a transparent glass diffuser. The body is powder-coated aluminium in white, mounted on a white base plate, and rated IP54 for protection against dust ingress and water splashes from any direction.
Designed for pathway edging, garden borders, driveways and terrace perimeters, the Viritis directs light downwards to illuminate ground-level surfaces without glare. The 600mm height keeps the light source below typical eye level when standing, making it suitable for walkways where visibility of the path matters more than decorative uplighting. The 85mm square footprint allows close placement at 1-2m intervals along a path without the fittings dominating the visual line.
The powder-coated aluminium body resists corrosion in UK coastal and urban environments, and the white finish reflects rather than absorbs heat during summer daylight hours. The transparent glass diffuser spreads the LED output across a wider ground area than an opaque or directional lens would, reducing the number of bollards needed to light a given path length. The integrated LED eliminates bulb replacement, and the IP54 rating means the fitting handles rain, garden irrigation spray and seasonal damp without internal moisture damage.
From Ideal Lux, an Italian manufacturer of residential and commercial lighting with UK distribution through Niori. The Viritis carries a 5-year warranty covering the LED driver, housing and diffuser against manufacturing defects.

Frequently Asked
What does the IP54 rating mean for outdoor use?
IP54 confirms the Viritis is protected against dust ingress and splashing water from any angle. It handles rain, garden sprinklers and seasonal damp, but is not submersible and should not be installed in areas prone to flooding or standing water.
Can the LED be replaced?
No. The 12W LED is integrated into the fitting and is not user-replaceable. The LED module is covered by the 5-year manufacturer warranty and is rated for 30,000+ hours of operation, equivalent to 10+ years of typical evening-only outdoor use.
How is it wired and installed?
The Viritis has a 600mm cable tail for connection to an external mains supply via a suitable outdoor junction box or weatherproof connector. The bollard base plate is fixed to a concrete base, paved surface or directly into soil using ground anchors depending on the installation site. A qualified electrician should handle the mains connection to ensure compliance with UK outdoor wiring regulations.
What spacing works for pathway lighting?
Bollards at this height typically light a ground area of 1-1.5m diameter per fitting. For continuous pathway lighting without dark gaps, place Viritis bollards at 1.5-2m intervals along the path edge. For accent or marker lighting where full illumination is not needed, 3-4m spacing is acceptable.
