Virello Medium Raindrop Alabaster Pendant Light - Soft White

The Virello is a single pendant light shaped from natural Spanish alabaster into a 275mm-tall raindrop, suspended on a slim copper cable from a tapered alabaster neck. A single G9 lamp sits inside the hollowed stone, lighting the alabaster from within so the veining and tonal variation across the surface become visible as the light passes through. At 150mm in diameter, the pendant reads as sculptural without dominating the space around it.

The compact footprint suits stairwells, bedside positions either side of a bed, hallway runs, and clusters of three or five over a kitchen island or dining table. The thin cable suspension lets the pendant be hung at varied drops within the same group, which works well for stairwells where each pendant lands at a different stair level. The soft white tone of the stone pairs cleanly with both warm and cool interior palettes.

Each raindrop is cut and hollowed from a single block of Spanish alabaster, so the veining patterns, mineral inclusions and translucency vary between individual pendants. Lit from inside by the G9 lamp, denser sections of the stone glow more softly than thinner sections, producing the moonlit surface visible across the body of the drop. The slim copper neck and cable keep visual weight on the stone itself rather than on the suspension hardware.

What bulb does the Virello take?

The pendant uses a single G9 lamp, which sits inside the hollowed alabaster body. G9 LED bulbs are widely available in 2-4W warm white and are the recommended choice for this fitting. Bulbs are sold separately.

Does each pendant look the same?

No. Each raindrop is cut from a single block of natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining, mineral inclusions and tonal variation differ between individual pieces. This natural variation becomes most visible when the lamp is switched on.

Can the Virello be installed in clusters?

Yes. The slim cable suspension makes it well suited to clustered installations of three, five or more pendants at varied drops, for example over a kitchen island, dining table, or down a stairwell. Each pendant requires its own ceiling outlet.

How is the alabaster cleaned?

Wipe the surface gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. Alabaster is porous and softer than marble, so avoid water-soaking, household sprays, polishes and any chemical cleaners, which can stain or etch the stone.
