Description

The Vintage rug is a traditional design with a softly faded, aged look. Its grey field carries a pattern of scrolling flowers and leaves around a central medallion, framed by a wide cream border of larger blooms and fine trailing stems. Narrow grey bands edge the border, and a short fringe finishes each end. It is machine made from polyester with a high density weave, and the textured pile gives the design gentle depth.

We think it is most at home in a hallway, where the two runners come into their own: the 60 by 230cm runner for a narrower passage, or the 80 by 300cm runner for a longer one. The traditional design suits a living room just as well, and the larger rug sizes give it room to anchor the seating: 160 by 230cm sits comfortably under the front of a sofa, while 200 by 290cm can take in a whole seating area. For a smaller spot, choose 80 by 150cm or 120 by 170cm.

The high density weave packs the fibres closely, giving the rug a firm, full surface underfoot and keeping the floral detail clear. The textured pile adds variety to the touch as well as the eye. Before you order, measure your space and allow a margin of bare floor around the edges, or along both sides of a hallway runner, so the cream border frames the area neatly. In a hallway, check that doors open freely over it.
