Description

The Victoria is a single-light outdoor wall lantern built from solid brass with a verdigris finish, housing a clear glass panel that surrounds the E27 bulb fitting. The 260mm tall frame uses a hinged door for bulb access and features a pitched roof detail that sheds water away from the glass. The verdigris finish gives the brass a blue-green patina that replicates the natural weathering of aged copper, lacquered to hold the colour stable rather than continue developing over time.

Designed for front doors, side entrances, courtyard walls and porch areas, the Victoria provides downward-focused light through the glass panel once fitted with a standard E27 LED or filament bulb up to 60W (sold separately). The IP44 rating protects the internal fitting from splashes and rain when mounted on a sheltered wall, making it suitable for covered porches and areas under eaves rather than fully exposed positions. The 100mm projection from the wall keeps the lantern clear of doorframes and window sills.

IP44 protects against solid objects over 1mm and splashing water from any direction. The Victoria is suitable for covered porches, doorways under eaves, and wall positions sheltered from direct weather exposure. It is not rated for fully exposed positions such as open courtyard walls with no roof cover above.

What bulb does it take?

The lantern takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users fit a warm-white LED filament bulb between 4-8W and 2200K-2700K to replicate the look of a traditional gas lantern.

Does the verdigris finish continue to age?

No. The verdigris patina is applied and then lacquered, which holds the blue-green colour stable. The finish will not darken or change tone further unless the lacquer is damaged by abrasion or impact.

How is the bulb accessed?

The glass panel is mounted on a hinged door secured by a small catch on the side of the frame. Open the door to access the E27 socket for bulb replacement. The door closes flush with the frame once the bulb is fitted.
