The Vesper is a vintage wool rug with a traditional design: a large central medallion framed by a hexagonal outline, smaller motifs scattered across a soft beige field, and a wide floral border running round all four sides. Accents of peach, terracotta, ochre, pale blue and deep navy pick out the motifs, and the gently faded look of the weave gives it a lived-in, vintage character. It is machine woven from 80% wool and 20% polyamide, and a short fringe finishes each end.

It is made for the living room, where its warm, muted tones sit easily alongside wooden floors and neutral furnishings. We offer it in three sizes. The 120 by 170cm rug suits a smaller living room or a cosy corner, laid in front of an armchair or a fireplace. The 160 by 235cm size sits comfortably in front of a sofa, and the 200 by 285cm rug is large enough to anchor a whole seating area, running under the sofa and chairs alike.

Its high density weave and hard wearing build mean it copes well with everyday foot traffic, so you can lay it where people walk, not only where they sit. With wool making up most of the blend, it brings natural materials underfoot, a good choice if you prefer natural fibres in your home.
