Description
Our Vesper rug is a traditional design in the Brown / Black colourway, built around a central diamond medallion framed by stepped geometric motifs and narrow borders. The ground is a soft beige, with anthracite blocks giving the design its depth and touches of brown, rust and muted green picked out through the detail. A short fringe finishes each end. It is machine woven from 80% wool and 20% polyamide in a high density weave, giving a close, firm surface, and with wool making up most of the blend it is a rug of natural materials.
This is a rug for the living room, and the sizes let you choose how much of the floor it covers. The 120 by 170cm size sits neatly in front of a sofa or by the hearth; the 160 by 235cm size is wide enough to run under a coffee table with the front feet of the sofa resting on it; and the 200 by 285cm size anchors a larger seating area. Its beige and anthracite palette sits comfortably on wooden floors and suits a period home.
Being hard wearing, it suits the room your household uses most and the everyday footfall that comes with it. The high density weave gives a firm, closely packed surface, so the fine detail of the pattern reads clearly. Before you choose a size, measure the space and mark it out with tape, leaving a margin of bare floor around the edge so the border has room to show.
