Description

The Versailles is a traditional floral rug in the Dark Blue colourway, printed with a classic all-over design of scrolling foliage and open flower heads. On a deep anthracite ground, soft grey-blue leaves curl into linked arches, each one framing a blush pink bloom. A wide border repeats the flowers along a trailing vine between narrow pale bands. It is made from 100% polyester and digitally printed, a method well suited to fine linework like this.

We think it sits most happily in a living room or a bedroom. The 122 by 170cm and 152 by 230cm sizes work well in front of a sofa or at the foot of a bed. The 180 by 270cm size is large enough to sit under a sofa and coffee table together, or under a bed. The 61 by 230cm runner is the one for the side of a bed or a narrower stretch of floor. The dark ground and muted pinks suit a traditional room, and they sit just as comfortably against pale floors and plain walls.

Because it is washable, it is a practical choice for a room that sees everyday use. It is also anti slip, which helps it stay where you lay it on hard floors such as wood or laminate. Measure the space before choosing a size, and leave a strip of bare floor around the edges so the border reads clearly.
