Veridra Alabaster Table Lamp Conical Green Shade - Soft White & Brass

The Veridra is a 464mm alabaster table lamp built around a cylindrical column of natural Spanish alabaster, capped with a brushed brass collar and finial and topped by a 360mm green conical fabric shade. A single E27 lamp socket sits inside the alabaster column, so the stone itself glows from within when the lamp is switched on, while the fabric shade above directs a separate pool of diffused light downwards onto the surface below.

At 464mm high and 360mm wide at the shade, the Veridra suits sideboards, console tables, dressing tables and larger bedside tables where a sculptural lamp can sit without crowding picture frames or accessories. The dual-light effect, with the column glowing softly and the shade casting a wider downwash, makes it useful as evening ambient lighting in living rooms and bedrooms rather than as a directed reading lamp.

The alabaster column is cut from a single block of soft white Spanish stone, and each piece carries its own pattern of veining and density variation that becomes more visible once the lamp is lit. A polished brass base ring grounds the column and is echoed by a smaller brass collar and ball finial above the shade. The green fabric shade has a low-sloped conical profile that sits wider than a traditional empire shade, balancing the slim vertical proportion of the stone column.

An internal metal frame supports the shade and houses the wiring, keeping the external materials uncluttered. The combination of translucent alabaster, brushed brass and muted green fabric pairs comfortably with both contemporary and traditional interiors, particularly schemes built around warm neutrals, sage and olive tones, or natural stone surfaces.

What bulb does the Veridra take?

The lamp uses a single E27 (Edison screw) bulb, sold separately. A warm-white LED between 6-9W and 2700K-3000K typically pairs well, allowing the alabaster column to glow softly without overpowering the room.

Does the alabaster column light up as well as the shade?

Yes. The E27 lamp socket sits inside the alabaster column, so the stone itself becomes a diffuser when the lamp is switched on. The fabric shade above casts a separate, wider pool of downward light onto the surface below.

What size table or surface does it suit?

At 464mm tall and 360mm wide at the shade, the Veridra suits sideboards, console tables, dressing tables and larger bedside tables. On smaller bedside tables under 400mm wide the shade may overhang the edge.

How is the alabaster cleaned?

Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. For stubborn marks use a barely-damp cloth with distilled water, but avoid soaking the stone and do not use household sprays, polishes or chemical cleaners.
