Description

The Veridan is a 640mm table lamp built around a solid green marble block fronted with an interlocking geometric brass frame. The marble shows natural white veining that varies from piece to piece, while the brushed brass framing sits proud of the stone surface to create a layered, architectural face. A rectangular white PVC shade sits on a slim brass stem, mirroring the rectilinear form of the marble base. The lamp takes a single E27 bulb (sold separately).

At 400mm long and 200mm deep, the Veridan suits console tables in entrance halls, sideboards in dining and living rooms, and wider bedside tables where a substantial bedside lamp is wanted. The rectangular shade casts diffused ambient light downward and outward through the white PVC, giving soft general illumination rather than directed task light. The inline switch on the cable controls the lamp directly without needing a wall-switched socket.

The marble is cut as a single rectangular slab rather than a turned column, which means the green tone and veining read as a flat geometric panel rather than a tapered form. The brass frame uses a pair of overlapping square outlines applied to the lower portion of the stone, with a matching brass plinth grounding the base. The brushed brass finish keeps reflections soft and pairs the lamp with both warm wood interiors and cooler grey or off-white schemes.

Does the marble vary between pieces?

Yes. Each marble block is cut from natural stone, so the veining pattern, intensity of green tone and white striation will vary between individual lamps. This is a feature of the natural material rather than a defect.

At 640mm tall with a 400 x 200mm footprint, the Veridan suits console tables, sideboards and wider bedside tables of around 500mm depth or more. It is too large for narrow bedside tables under 400mm deep.

How is the marble cleaned?

Wipe the marble gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. For more stubborn marks a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the stone and do not use household sprays, polishes or acidic cleaners, which can dull the polished finish over time.
