Description

The Venetian Rain is a 2 light outdoor chain pendant with a brushed bronze die-cast frame and ribbed rain glass panels enclosing two E14 bulb positions. The lantern-style body hangs from a chain adjustable between 700mm and 1900mm drop, with a decorative ribbed crown and base casting that references Italian Renaissance architectural detailing.

Designed for covered outdoor areas including front porches, rear patio canopies, loggia and carriage-style entrances, the pendant carries an IP23 rating which protects against vertically falling water and spray at angles up to 60 degrees from vertical. This makes it suitable for positions under a roof overhang or gazebo ceiling but not for fully exposed open-air mounting. The 184mm width and 629mm body height suit typical residential porch ceiling heights of 2.4-3m.

The rain glass panels use vertical ribbing to diffuse and scatter light from the two E14 bulbs, creating a ripple effect against the surrounding metal frame when lit. The brushed bronze finish on the die-cast metalwork shows visible texture and tonal variation across the surface, giving a hand-finished appearance rather than uniform plating. Each decorative element on the frame — the beaded crown band, the fluted ribs on the lower section, the turned finial — is cast as part of the metal housing rather than applied separately.

The chain suspension allows the pendant to be shortened during installation by removing links to suit lower ceiling heights or lengthened to its full 1900mm drop for double-height covered porches. The E14 candle bulbs are sold separately, allowing you to choose between warm-white LED for year-round outdoor use or filament-style bulbs for decorative effect. Maximum wattage per bulb is 60W.
