Description

The Venera is a 2 light wall light built around a brass-finished backplate with an ornamental pierced band holding two white tubular glass shades, one above and one below. Each shade houses an E14 bulb (sold separately), and the white glass diffuses the light output into a soft ambient wash. The brass band features scrollwork detail that adds visual texture to the centre of the fitting.

Designed for hallway accent lighting, bedroom walls flanking a headboard, or living room feature walls where vertical wall lights suit the proportions better than conventional horizontal arms, the Venera's 457mm height gives a defined vertical presence without needing deep projection from the wall. The 120mm width and 113mm projection keep the fitting compact enough for narrower hallways or passage walls.

The brass finish carries a warm tone that pairs with traditional wood panelling, warm-painted walls, and warmer contemporary schemes where metallic accents lean towards gold rather than chrome or nickel. The ornamental band around the centre of the glass gives the fitting a more decorative character than plain cylindrical wall lights, making it suitable for period properties and traditionally-styled interiors. The IP20 rating limits use to indoor dry locations only.

What bulbs does it take?

The Venera takes two E14 small Edison screw bulbs, up to 40W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating means the fitting is suitable for indoor dry locations only and should not be installed in bathrooms, wet rooms, or any area exposed to moisture or splashing.

How is it fitted to the wall?

The backplate fixes to a standard UK wall rose or back box using screws (supplied). The brass ornamental band and glass shades attach to the backplate once wiring is complete. Full fitting instructions are included in the product manual.

Is the brass finish lacquered?

Maytoni brass finishes are typically lacquered to prevent tarnishing. Wipe gently with a dry microfibre cloth to clean. Avoid abrasive cleaners or chemical polishes that may damage the lacquer layer.
