Description

The Vellum is a 490mm marble table lamp built around a rectangular block of grey marble with natural white veining, framed along one vertical edge by a brushed brass strip. A slim brass stem rises from the top of the stone to support a rectangular white PVC shade, and the whole composition sits on a stepped brushed brass plinth that extends slightly beyond the marble footprint. A single E27 lamp socket is concealed within the upper fitting.

Designed for console tables, sideboards and bedside positions where a directional table lamp would feel out of place, the Vellum casts soft diffused light through the rectangular shade. The 400mm shade length suits longer surfaces such as hallway consoles and dressing tables, while the 200mm depth keeps the lamp close to the wall. The E27 fitting accepts standard screw-cap bulbs (sold separately), giving flexibility over brightness and colour temperature.

The marble block is cut into a precise rectangular form with sharp corners and flat planes, and each piece shows different veining depending on the section of stone it was cut from. The brushed brass frame and stepped plinth pair the cool grey of the stone with a warm metallic accent, while the crisp white shade keeps the upper half of the lamp visually light against the heavier stone base. The 490mm overall height is compact enough to sit beneath wall art or shelving without crowding the surface above.

What bulb does it take and is one included?

The Vellum uses a single E27 (Edison screw) bulb, sold separately. Most buyers pair it with a warm-white LED between 6W and 10W at 2700K-3000K for ambient bedside or console lighting.

Does the marble veining vary between pieces?

Yes. Each marble block is cut from natural stone, so the pattern, density and tone of the white veining differs between individual lamps. This is a feature of the natural material rather than a defect.

Is it dimmable?

The lamp itself has no inline dimmer. Dimming depends on the bulb fitted and the dimmer or smart plug used in the circuit. A dimmable E27 LED paired with a compatible trailing-edge dimmer or smart plug will give variable output.

How is the marble cleaned?

Wipe gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. For more stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the stone and do not use household sprays, polishes or acidic cleaners, which can etch marble.
