Description

The Vela is a 54cm three-light crystal chandelier built on a French gold frame with three curved arms, each holding a candle-style E14 bulb beneath a crystal bobeche. Concave-cut crystal droplets hang from the arms and central stem, and the warm gold finish on the metalwork gives the fitting a classical appearance without the high polish of bright gold or the antiquing of aged brass.

Designed for dining rooms, bedrooms and entrance halls where ceiling height allows a 810mm minimum drop, the Vela works in rooms from 3m by 3m upwards without dominating the space. The 1760mm maximum drop allows the chandelier to be lowered in double-height hallways or over staircases, with the chain and cable concealed within the central stem. The fitting takes three E14 candle bulbs up to 60W each (sold separately), and is compatible with dimmable LED or halogen bulbs when paired with a suitable dimmer.

The concave-cut crystals are faceted in a way that creates broader light dispersion than standard round-cut crystals, so even with three bulbs the chandelier produces noticeable refracted light patterns on walls and ceilings when lit. The French gold finish sits between polished brass and antique brass in tone — warmer than chrome or nickel but cooler than aged copper — and pairs well with warm whites, creams, and grey-based colour schemes.
