Description

The Vega is a 12cm diameter surface-mounted LED downlight with a white powder-coated aluminium body and an integrated 12W 3000K LED delivering warm white light with a 90 CRI colour rendering index. The low-profile cylindrical housing measures 6.4cm in depth, making it suitable for rooms with limited ceiling void or solid ceilings where recessed downlights cannot be installed.

Designed for residential and commercial spaces requiring clean ambient light without ceiling penetration, the Vega fits hallways, corridors, bedrooms, kitchens and retail environments where surface mounting is preferred or required. The white finish allows the fitting to sit flush against white or light-toned ceilings without visual interruption, while the aluminium construction dissipates heat efficiently to maintain LED lifespan. The 12W output delivers approximately 960 lumens, comparable to a traditional 75W incandescent downlight.

The 90 CRI rating ensures accurate colour rendering for food preparation areas, retail display spaces and offices where true colour perception matters. The IP20 rating limits the fitting to dry indoor locations only — it is not suitable for bathrooms or outdoor use. The surface-mounted design eliminates the need for ceiling cutting or back box installation, with the downlight fixing directly to the ceiling surface via a standard base plate and ceiling rose connection.

Frequently Asked

Can this be installed on a low ceiling?

Yes. The 6.4cm depth suits low ceilings and rooms with minimal ceiling void. Because the Vega is surface-mounted rather than recessed, it requires no ceiling void at all and can be fitted to solid ceilings including concrete slabs.

Is the Vega dimmable?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the LED driver inside the fitting. Contact us to confirm whether this specific model supports dimming before pairing with a dimmer switch.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating limits the Vega to dry indoor locations only. For bathrooms, kitchens with steam or outdoor use, an IP44 or IP65 rated fitting is required.

What lumen output does the 12W LED produce?

A 12W LED at 3000K typically delivers approximately 960 lumens, comparable to a traditional 75W incandescent bulb. The 90 CRI ensures colours appear natural and accurate under the light.
