Description

The Varette is a slim LED bathroom mirror light: a long, narrow black bar held on a neat rectangular wall block, 60cm long, 5cm high and standing 13cm from the wall. The body is aluminium in black, and a white plastic diffuser runs along the bar so the integrated LED gives an even line of light rather than a bright spot. It draws 10W and gives 1,350lm. Its IP44 rating means it is protected from splashing water, which is what lets it sit in a bathroom above the basin and mirror.

Mount it centred over a bathroom mirror and the light falls across your face and the basin, which is where you need it most for shaving or a morning routine. At 60cm it suits a mirror of a similar width, and the slim bar keeps the wall uncluttered. Because it is a wired mains light, a qualified electrician should fit it and will confirm the right zone for your bathroom. It works just as well over a dressing table mirror or a hall mirror, anywhere a clean, modern line of light suits the room.

You choose between three colour temperatures at the light itself: 3000K for a warm light, 4000K for a neutral light and 6500K for a cool daylight. Warm white is kind for a relaxing evening bath, while the cooler settings show colours more crisply at the mirror. It is not dimmable and has no switch of its own, so it runs from your wall switch on 220-240V mains. Its energy class is E, and it weighs 0.48KG packed.
