Description
Gold-tinted glass gives this LED globe a warm amber cast, lit or unlit. The envelope is a round sphere of 95mm across on an E27 cap, so it looks like a piece of glass in its own right rather than a lamp trying to hide inside a shade. It draws 8W, and the colour is a deep 2200K, nearer candlelight than ordinary warm white. Light spreads all the way round, so the whole ball glows.
We reach for a globe of this size where the lamp itself is part of the look: open cage pendants, a bare flex drop over a kitchen island, a cluster above a dining table, or a floor lamp with an exposed head. The gold tint takes the edge off the glare, which suits snugs, bars, bedside pendants and hallways where you want low, mellow light rather than working brightness. Because the light comes from every side, it also works in fittings that hang the lamp horizontally or at an angle. It is not dimmable, so pair it with an ordinary switch and leave the dimmer plates for elsewhere in the house.
The body is glass carrying the gold finish, on a standard screw cap. Keep a soft dry cloth for the glass and only wipe it when the lamp is cold and switched off at the wall; nothing wet should go near the cap. It carries a five year warranty. We would put it in fittings with brass, bronze or matt black metalwork, where the amber glass and the warm metal work in the same key, and we are happy to sell it singly if you only need to fill one socket.

Frequently Asked
How much light does it give out?
It produces 806 lumens from 8W, at a colour temperature of 2200K, so the effect is soft and amber rather than bright and neutral.
Can I use it on a dimmer?
No. This one is non-dimmable and should be run from a normal on/off switch.
What are its dimensions?
The glass measures 95mm in diameter, with an overall height of 140mm including the E27 screw cap.
How long is it rated to last?
It has an average life of 15,000 hours and carries a five year warranty.
How should I clean the gold glass?
Switch off, let it cool, then dust the sphere with a dry microfibre cloth. Avoid sprays, solvents and anything damp near the cap.
