Description
Gold-tinted glass gives this round lamp its colour before it is even switched on, and a soft amber glow once it is. The globe measures 95mm across, big enough to read as a proper shape in an open fitting yet small enough to sit in a modest shade. It draws 4W and returns 330 lumens, a low, cosy level rather than a working light, and the tint takes any hard edge off the beam. The cap is a standard E27 screw, and it is not dimmable, so a plain on-off switch is what it wants.
We reach for lamps like this where the bulb is part of the look: a bare flex drop over a kitchen island, a cluster in a stairwell, a caged wall light, an open-bottom shade in a snug. The light it gives is close to candlelight in character, which suits evening rooms, bedside pendants and hallways where you want a low glow rather than brightness. It is a poor choice for a desk or a worktop that needs real output; there we would fit something stronger and keep this for atmosphere. Several in a row make more sense than one on its own.
The body is glass, tinted through rather than painted on the surface, finished with the usual metal screw cap. Keep it clean by switching off at the wall, letting the glass go cold, then dusting with a dry lint-free cloth; sprays and damp cloths do it no favours. It carries a five year warranty. We would happily mix it with clear glass elsewhere in the same room, since the gold reads as a warm accent rather than a colour, and it is one we keep for customers reviving older pendants and vintage-styled fittings.

Frequently Asked
How bright is it compared with an old filament bulb?
It gives 330 lumens, which is closer to a decorative 25W filament lamp than to a general-purpose bulb. Use it where you want a warm glow, and add more than one if you need the room lit.
Can I put it on a dimmer?
No. This one is non-dimmable, so it should be run from a standard switch. On a dimmer circuit it may flicker, buzz or fail early.
What colour is the light?
2200K, an extra warm amber that reads much warmer than standard warm white and sits close to candlelight.
Will it fit inside a small shade?
It is 95mm in diameter and 130mm tall including the cap, so check the internal height of the shade and the position of the lampholder before ordering.
How long should it last?
It is rated at 15,000 hours of average life, and it carries a five year warranty.
Does the gold finish wear off?
The colour is in the glass rather than applied as a surface coating, so gentle dry dusting will not take it back to clear.
