Description

The Valma is a 690mm marble table lamp built around a hexagonal column of soft white marble, divided into three stacked sections by two horizontal brass bands set flush into the stone. A slim brass stem rises from the top of the column to a soft white PVC drum shade with a 380mm diameter, finished with a small brass ball finial. The lamp takes a single E27 bulb (sold separately).

Sized for bedside tables, console tables and living room side tables, the Valma works at a height that places the shade roughly at seated eye level beside an armchair or sofa, giving comfortable ambient light without glare. The 380mm shade diameter spreads light wide enough to act as a primary corner light in a small room or as a paired set flanking a bed or sideboard. The lamp is wired with an inline switch on the cable.

The marble shows natural veining that varies from piece to piece, with grey and soft cream tones running through the white. The brass bands sit flush with the stone rather than wrapping around the outside, giving the column a continuous profile broken only by the metallic line. The hexagonal cross-section catches light differently on each face, adding subtle facets to what could otherwise read as a plain cylinder. How is the marble cleaned?

Wipe the marble with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. For marks, use a barely-damp cloth with distilled water and dry immediately. Avoid acidic cleaners, household sprays and polishes, which can etch the surface of natural marble.
