Description

The Valenro is an 800mm circular chandelier built around a flat brass ring, with 32 cylindrical shades cut from natural Spanish alabaster mounted alternately above and below the ring in two staggered tiers. A central brass rod with a textured, sculpted upper section suspends the ring from a matching brass ceiling canopy. Each alabaster cylinder houses a G4 capsule lamp, giving 32 individual points of warm light filtered through the stone.

Designed for dining rooms, large hallways, stairwells and open-plan living spaces with ceiling heights of 2.7m or higher, the Valenro reads as a horizontal halo of light rather than a vertical drop. The 300mm suspension rod plus 160mm fixture height keeps the overall drop compact at 460mm, leaving generous clearance above a dining table. The radial arrangement throws light outward across the room as well as down onto the surface below.

Each alabaster cylinder is carved from solid stone, so veining, mineral density and translucency vary between shades. The two-tier mounting, with cylinders alternating above and below the brass ring, breaks the silhouette into a rhythmic pattern when viewed from across the room. The soft white tone of the alabaster sits against the warm brass frame and sculpted central column, which adds an organic, almost knotted texture against the otherwise geometric ring.

At 800mm in diameter, the Valenro suits dining tables of 1.6-2.2m in length or round tables of 1.4m and above, and works equally well as the central feature in a square room of 4-5m. The G4 x 32 lamp configuration allows the output to be tuned to the room by choosing 10W or 20W G4 capsules in the colour temperature that suits the space.
