Universal 3 Light Round Canopy Base - Black 30cm

The Universal 3 Light Round Canopy is a 30cm diameter matt black ceiling plate designed to conceal wiring for three pendant lights mounted from a single ceiling point. The metal base sits 2.5cm deep against the ceiling and provides three cable exit points arranged in a triangular pattern around the plate, allowing pendant drops to be spaced evenly when hung as a cluster.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and living room feature installations where multiple pendant lights need to share a single ceiling rose, the canopy hides junction box wiring and creates a cleaner finish than leaving individual pendant canopies visible. The three exit points allow pendant drops to be positioned symmetrically, which works well over rectangular tables or kitchen islands where an even spread of light is needed across the length of the surface.

The matt black metal construction pairs with black braided cable and black pendant fittings to create a continuous visual line from ceiling to lampshade, or provides tonal contrast when paired with brass, chrome or coloured pendants. The 30cm diameter gives enough coverage for a standard UK ceiling rose without dominating the ceiling plane in rooms with 2.4m-2.7m ceiling heights. The base accepts standard UK mains wiring and the metal construction provides earthing continuity for metal pendant fittings.

Product Manual

What pendant lights does this work with?

The canopy works with any pendant light that has a separate ceiling canopy or rose cover. You remove the individual pendant canopies and run all three cables through this single base instead, concealing the junction point. The three exit points are pre-drilled and accept standard pendant cable thicknesses.

Can this be fitted to a standard UK ceiling rose?

Yes. The 30cm diameter covers a standard UK ceiling rose and the base accepts normal mains wiring. The metal construction provides earthing continuity, so it's suitable for use with metal pendant fittings that require an earth connection.

How far apart are the three cable exit points?

The three exit points are arranged in a triangular pattern around the plate. The exact spacing depends on how far from the centre each exit sits, but the arrangement allows pendant drops to be spaced symmetrically over a table or island surface without the cables crossing at the ceiling.

Does this come with pendant lights?

No. The canopy is sold as a ceiling base only. Pendant lights, cables, and lampholders are purchased separately. The canopy is designed to work with your choice of pendant fittings rather than being tied to a specific light design.
