Description

The Unity single-phase track power feed is a black plastic surface-mounted connector that links track lighting to 220-240V mains supply. Measuring 112mm long by 38mm wide and 22mm high, the unit clips onto the end of single-phase track rail and provides the electrical connection point between ceiling wiring and the track system itself.

Designed for both residential and commercial track lighting installations, the power feed slots into the track profile and locks in place with internal retention clips. Once wired to the mains supply at the ceiling rose or junction box, the unit energises the full length of track rail, allowing spotlights and pendant adaptors to draw power at any position along the run. The black finish matches Maytoni Unity black track rail and fittings, creating a continuous visual line across the ceiling.

The plastic housing is rated for indoor use at AC 220-240V and acts as both the mechanical anchor point for the track and the electrical interface. Most single-phase track installations position the power feed at one end of the run, with the track extending away from the feed point. For longer runs or L-shaped and U-shaped configurations, multiple power feeds can be installed at different points to reduce voltage drop across the system.

Frequently Asked

Is this compatible with all single-phase track systems?

This power feed is designed for Maytoni Unity single-phase track. Single-phase track profiles vary between manufacturers — the connector dimensions and internal contact geometry are not standardised, so the Unity power feed works only with Unity track rail.

Can I install this myself or does it need an electrician?

Installation requires connecting the power feed to mains voltage at a ceiling rose or junction box. In the UK, this work must be performed by a qualified electrician and notified to Building Control under Part P regulations.

How many spotlights can one power feed support?

The power feed itself does not limit the number of lights — that depends on the total wattage of the spotlights and the circuit breaker rating. A typical 6A lighting circuit at 240V can handle up to 1,440W, which allows for 10-15 LED spotlights at 10-15W each, or fewer halogen spots.

Where should the power feed be positioned on the track?

Most installations place the power feed at one end of the track run, with the rail extending away from the feed point. For long runs or complex layouts, multiple power feeds can be installed at different positions to reduce voltage drop.
