Description

The Unity is a 1m recessed track system for single-phase track lighting, built from extruded white aluminium with a 60mm width and 20mm depth. The track sits flush with plasterboard or plastered ceilings, leaving only the track channel visible once installed. A single copper conductor rail runs along the centre of the channel, accepting standard single-phase track heads that clip in at any point along the 1m length.

Designed for retail, gallery, office and residential spaces where directional lighting needs to be reconfigured without rewiring, the Unity track allows multiple heads to be positioned, repositioned and replaced as needs change. The track operates on 220-240V AC mains and the white powder-coated aluminium finish blends into white ceilings without creating visual contrast. The 1m length can be cut to size on site with a hacksaw, allowing the track to fit alcoves, corridors and display wall runs without wasted material.

Installation requires cutting a 60mm-wide channel into the ceiling void, securing the track housing to the ceiling joists or batten frame, and connecting the mains feed to the track's terminal block. The track then accepts any compatible single-phase head — spotlights, pendant adaptors, or linear fittings — that clips into the conductor rail. The low 20mm ceiling penetration suits most UK residential ceilings with 100mm+ void depth above the plasterboard.

The Unity accepts any single-phase track head designed for the standard conductor rail system. Maytoni produces a range of compatible heads, and many third-party single-phase heads will also fit. Check that the head specifies single-phase compatibility before purchase.

Can the track be cut to length?

Yes. The 1m aluminium extrusion can be cut with a hacksaw to fit shorter runs. Cut edges should be deburred with a file before installation to avoid sharp edges and ensure a clean finish.

What ceiling depth is needed?

The track requires a 20mm recess depth plus clearance for the mains connection and terminal block behind the track housing. A minimum 100mm ceiling void depth is recommended for straightforward installation in typical UK residential construction.

How many heads can be fitted per metre?
