Description

The Unity is a 1m single-phase recessed track in black aluminium, designed to sit flush with plasterboard or other sheet ceilings. The track profile measures 60mm wide by 20mm deep, leaving only the narrow slot visible once installed, which allows track spotlights to be mounted and repositioned without visible surface hardware.

Built for retail displays, gallery lighting, kitchens and residential spaces where directional light is needed without ceiling-mounted fittings breaking the clean line of the ceiling plane, the track accepts single-phase compatible track heads from Maytoni and other manufacturers using the same rail standard. The single-phase configuration means all attached spotlights share one live circuit, so they operate together when switched on — no individual switching per head.

The aluminium body is finished in matt black powder coat, which absorbs ceiling reflections and reduces contrast against dark ceilings. The track can be cut to shorter lengths on site using a hacksaw or angle grinder, making it adaptable to non-standard bay widths or room configurations. Installation requires cutting a matching slot into the plasterboard and securing the track to ceiling joists or battens above, with the track sitting recessed so only the opening remains visible.

Can the track be cut to length?

Yes. The aluminium rail can be cut to shorter lengths using a hacksaw or angle grinder. Cut edges should be deburred before installation to avoid sharp edges and to ensure track heads slide smoothly.

How is the track installed into plasterboard?
