Description

Our Twin Pinwheel Swirls 3D wall panels, in white PVC, bring gentle movement to a plain wall. Each panel is a 50cm square carrying two pinwheel-like clusters of six curved, tapering strokes, set diagonally on a flat, smooth ground: one sits towards the upper left, the other towards the lower right, turned half a turn from each other. Their longest strokes curl towards each other near the centre in an S-shaped sweep, and each stroke runs from a fine point at the hub out to a rounded, bulbous tip. The tube-like strokes stand proud in a relief 14mm deep, so they read as soft, full forms instead of sharp ridges.

These panels are made for interior walls in homes, offices, hotels and shops. A run of them makes a feature wall behind a bed or sofa, along a hallway or behind a reception desk, where the swirls repeat panel after panel in a flowing rhythm. Because the pattern relies on relief rather than colour, the light in the room does the work: side light from a window or a wall lamp casts soft, moderate shadows along each curved stroke, while flat, even light keeps the wall calm and quiet.

Each one is formed from a 0.8mm sheet, and the PVC is waterproof. Fitting needs no special equipment: spread adhesive on the back of a panel and press it onto the wall, cut panels to fit where needed, then fill the joins with filler and wipe them clean. Adhesive and filler are sold separately. Four panels cover one square metre, which makes it simple to work out how many your wall needs. Once up, the panels are low maintenance and wipe clean with a damp cloth. For a finishing touch, keep the furniture in front simple so the twin swirls carry the room.
