Description

Tropicana is a botanical rug in the Bronze colourway, with palm fronds, broad tropical leaves and feathery grasses rising in tall columns across a cream ground. The leaves are drawn in fine outline and picked out in soft sage green, blush pink, sand and warm taupe, so the pattern reads as gentle and airy. A plain border in a warm bronze tone runs round the edge, framing the design and giving the rug a neat, finished line on the floor.

We think this tropical leaf rug sits well in a living room or a bedroom, where its light cream ground and soft greens bring a calm, garden feel to a space. It is sold in three sizes. The 120 by 170cm rug suits a reading corner or the space beside a bed. At 160 by 230cm it is large enough to anchor a seating area, with the front feet of a sofa resting on it. The 200 by 290cm size can sit under a double bed or fill the centre of a larger living room or dining room.

Before you choose, measure the floor and mark out the size with masking tape, leaving bare floor showing round the edges so the border stands out. The cream ground and bronze edging sit comfortably alongside warm wood, soft greys and muted greens, so it pairs easily with furniture you already own. A pale ground is happiest away from a busy back door, so we would keep it to the calmer rooms of the home.
