Description

The Tropez is a 240mm square wall light from Diyas with two G9 bulbs suspended within a frame of twisted glass icicles hung from a circular polished chrome backplate. Each glass element is moulded with a spiral twist, creating faceted surfaces that refract light outward and upward when the bulbs are lit. The fixture projects 150mm from the wall, holding the glass away from the mounting surface to allow light to spread in multiple directions.

Designed for living rooms, dining rooms and hallways with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the Tropez provides ambient rather than directional light. The twin G9 bulbs (included) deliver up to 80W combined output and are dimmable when paired with a compatible dimmer switch. The fixture mounts to a standard UK back box using the concealed fixings behind the chrome backplate, and the glass icicles are pre-assembled onto the frame.

The polished chrome finish reflects surrounding light and pairs with cooler-toned interiors, glass furniture and contemporary or art deco schemes. The twisted glass construction gives each icicle a sculptural presence that shows variation in light refraction depending on viewing angle. At 1.1kg the fitting is light enough for solid wall mounting without additional support, and the 240mm diameter suits wall positions where a semi-flush ceiling light would be too low or a pendant would obstruct movement.

Yes. The Tropez comes with two G9 bulbs fitted. These are dimmable when used with a compatible trailing-edge dimmer switch.

What ceiling height does it need?

As a wall light the Tropez has no minimum ceiling height requirement, but it works best in rooms with 2.4m or higher ceilings where the 150mm projection and 240mm height do not visually overwhelm the wall space.

How is the glass cleaned?

Switch off and allow the bulbs to cool fully before cleaning. Wipe each glass icicle with a dry microfibre cloth. For stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the glass or allowing moisture to enter the lamp holders.

Can it be mounted on plasterboard walls?

At 1.1kg the fitting is light enough for plasterboard installation using appropriate cavity wall fixings rated for the weight. Ensure the back box is securely fixed and the wall can support the combined weight of the fitting and glass.
