Description
The Trim is a 255mm outdoor pedestal light built from a graphite-finished aluminium frame with a white acrylic diffuser forming the four sides. The frame sits on a square aluminium base, creating a cube-shaped lantern that houses a single E27 bulb (sold separately) rated up to 15W. The IP65 rating means the fitting is dust-tight and can withstand directed water jets from any direction, making it suitable for year-round outdoor installation in UK weather.
Designed for mounting on gateposts, low boundary walls, patio columns and garden piers, the Trim directs light downwards and through the four acrylic panels, giving both functional path lighting and a visible marker in dark gardens. The 255mm height gives the fitting enough presence to be seen from a distance without overwhelming a typical 300mm-wide gatepost. The square footprint of 227mm x 227mm fits most standard post caps and pier tops, and the base includes pre-drilled fixing points for secure installation.
The graphite finish is a mid-tone charcoal grey that sits between black and natural aluminium, pairing with contemporary grey render, brick and timber cladding without stark contrast. The white acrylic diffuser softens the light output and prevents glare when walking past the fitting, while still allowing enough brightness to define steps, path edges and driveway entrances. The aluminium construction resists corrosion in coastal and high-rainfall areas, and the acrylic panels do not yellow or become brittle under UV exposure the way some polycarbonate diffusers can.

Frequently Asked
What does IP65 mean for outdoor use?
IP65 means the fitting is dust-tight and protected against water jets from any direction. It can be installed in fully exposed positions including coastal areas, under eaves, on boundary walls and in garden beds without requiring additional weather protection.
What bulb does it take?
The Trim takes a standard E27 bulb up to 15W. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K for outdoor path and accent lighting. Bulbs are sold separately.
How is it mounted?
The base includes pre-drilled fixing points for screwing directly onto a flat post cap, pier top or low wall. The wiring enters through the base, so the cable run needs to be routed through the post or column before the fitting is installed.
Is the acrylic diffuser replaceable if damaged?
The acrylic panels are part of the sealed IP65 assembly. If a panel is cracked or damaged, contact Maytoni or Niori for replacement parts or advice on maintaining the IP rating after repair.
