Tramena Wall Light 6cm - Black & Gold

The Tramena is a compact wall light made from two matt black steel cylinders, one above the other, joined by a polished gold band and held on a gold rectangular backplate. It is 17cm high and 6cm across, and it stands just 8.5cm out from the wall, so it sits neatly in a hallway or beside a bed. Each cylinder takes a GU10 lamp, one shining up and one shining down, and the rating is 2 x 2.8W with 250lm per light. It is rated IP20, which settles where it goes: indoors, in dry rooms only.

We like it most where a soft wash of light matters more than a bright flood. Fitted in pairs either side of a bed, it casts light up and down the wall, which gives a bedroom a calm, layered look and leaves the bedside table clear for a glass and a book. It works just as well along a landing, in a hallway or beside a mirror in a living room, where the black and gold finish sits comfortably with brass, walnut and darker painted walls. Because it is so slim, it also suits a narrow alcove where a wider wall light would crowd the space.

The body is steel, with a fine textured black coat on the cylinders and a bright gold finish on the centre band and backplate. There is no switch on the light itself, as it is switched at the wall, so it runs from the light switch you already use.
