Description
The Tower is a 500mm outdoor bollard light with a black corrosion-resistant resin body, a transparent anti-yellowing diffuser panel, and a single GX53 bulb fitting. The IP55 rating provides dust-tight protection and resistance to water jets from any direction, making it suitable for driveways, pathways, patios and front gardens exposed to rain and hose-down cleaning.
Designed for path edging, driveway marking and low-level garden accent lighting, the Tower casts downward and outward light through the central diffuser band while the solid resin top and base direct the beam horizontally. The 175mm square footprint sits on paving slabs, gravel beds or soil with a fixing plate recessed into the base. Most installations space bollards 3-5m apart along a path or driveway to create continuous pools of light without over-lighting.
The resin construction withstands temperature extremes from -60°C to +90°C, covering UK winters through Mediterranean summers, and UV-resistant pigments prevent the black finish from fading to grey under direct sun exposure. The transparent diffuser panel is treated to resist yellowing over years of outdoor use, maintaining light output clarity. At 500mm height the bollard provides waist-level visibility without glare at eye level when walking past.
The GX53 bulb format accepts low-profile LED pucks typically rated 7-11W, giving controllable brightness and colour temperature choice (warm white 2700K-3000K or cool white 4000K-5000K depending on application). The bollard is dimmable when paired with compatible GX53 LED bulbs and a suitable outdoor dimmer circuit.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does it take and is one included?
The Tower takes a single GX53 bulb (low-profile LED puck format). Bulbs are sold separately. Most users choose a 7-11W GX53 LED in warm white 2700K-3000K for path lighting or 4000K for security/visibility applications.
Can it be used in driveways and areas that get hosed down?
Yes. The IP55 rating means the bollard is dust-tight and protected against water jets from any direction, so it withstands rain, garden sprinklers and occasional hose-down cleaning. It is not submersible and should not be installed in areas that flood or pond water.
How is it installed and what height does it stand?
The Tower stands 500mm tall and has a fixing plate recessed into the base with pre-drilled holes for screws or bolts. It can be surface-mounted onto paving slabs, decking or concrete with appropriate outdoor fixings, or set into gravel or soil beds. Cable entry is through a knockout in the base.
Is it dimmable?
The bollard itself is dimmable-compatible. Actual dimming depends on using a dimmable GX53 LED bulb and pairing it with a suitable outdoor-rated dimmer circuit. Not all GX53 LEDs are dimmable, so check bulb specifications before purchasing if dimming is required.
