Description

Our Toucan printed rug in the Sky colourway brings a tropical scene to the floor. Toucans perch among palm fronds, spiky leaves and dark aubergine foliage, with sprays of yellow, purple and red blooms, all set on a pale sky blue ground. Greens lead the palette, from fresh lime to deep forest, so the rug feels lush and leafy. The design is digitally printed on polyester, giving the birds and leaves a fine, painterly detail, and a neat bound edge finishes all four sides.

It makes a cheerful centrepiece for a living room, and its mix of greens and sky blue sits comfortably with wood floors and with cool teal or warm mustard furnishings. We sell it in five sizes. The 61 by 230cm runner suits a hallway or a long landing, while the 76 by 150cm size works beside a bed or in front of a fireplace. At 120 by 170cm it sits neatly under a coffee table, and the 152 by 230cm and 185 by 290cm sizes are large enough to go under a sofa and chairs or a bed.

The rug is washable, so it suits a family room or a dining area where spills are part of daily life. Before you order, measure the space and allow a margin of bare floor around the edge; for a seating area, choose a size that lets at least the front legs of the sofa and chairs rest on the rug, which holds the arrangement together.
