Description

The Torvane is a 200mm single pendant light built around a flat travertine disc in light beige, capped by a cylindrical wooden column finished in dark walnut brown. A GU10 lamp socket sits in a recessed opening at the centre of the disc's underside, casting a focused downward beam while the surrounding stone edge picks up a soft reflected glow.

Suited to kitchen islands, breakfast bars, hallways and bedside positions, the compact 200mm diameter allows the Torvane to be used singly above a side table or hung in pairs and rows over a longer worktop. The pendant suspends from a slim cord that disappears visually above the fixture, keeping ceiling clutter to a minimum and letting the disc read as a clean horizontal plane in the room.

The travertine disc shows the natural pores, banding and mineral patterning of the stone, so each piece varies in surface character. The matte stone finish contrasts with the smooth walnut grain of the cylindrical column above, layering two natural materials in a single sculptural form. The GU10 fitting accepts standard mains-voltage GU10 LED lamps (sold separately), letting the colour temperature and beam angle be matched to the room.

What bulb does the Torvane take?

The pendant uses a single GU10 lamp, which is sold separately. Most users pair it with a warm-white LED GU10 between 2700K and 3000K, choosing a narrower beam angle (around 36°) for focused task light over a worktop or a wider angle (60°) for a softer pool of light.

Does the travertine vary between pieces?

Yes. Travertine is a natural sedimentary stone, so each disc shows different pore distribution, banding and tonal variation. Variation in surface character is a feature of the material rather than a defect.

What height should it hang at?

For a kitchen island or breakfast bar, hang the pendant so the underside of the disc sits 700-800mm above the worktop. For a dining or side-table position, 800-900mm above the surface gives a comfortable visual line. The cord can be shortened on installation to suit the ceiling height.

Can multiple Torvane pendants be hung in a row?

Yes. The compact 200mm diameter and slim cord suspension make the Torvane well suited to multi-pendant arrangements. Two or three pendants spaced 400-500mm apart work well over a 1.8-2.4m island or run of worktop.
