Description
The Tone-2 is a 205mm diameter wire cage pendant light built from welded black metal rods that curve out from the ceiling rose and taper inward to form a cage around a single E27 bulb holder. The cage structure leaves the bulb fully exposed, making the bulb choice part of the visual design—pair it with an oversized filament lamp for decorative impact or a standard LED for task-focused lighting.
Designed for kitchen islands, dining tables and bar areas, the pendant works equally as a single fitting over a small table or in clusters of three to five over longer surfaces. The 770mm cable is adjustable on installation, allowing the pendant to hang 600-700mm above a worktop or dining surface depending on ceiling height. The IP20 rating limits the fitting to dry indoor locations—not suitable for bathrooms or outdoor use.
The black powder-coated finish on the metal frame provides a matt surface that absorbs rather than reflects ambient light, keeping the visual focus on the bulb itself. The cage measures 320mm tall from ceiling rose to the bottom of the frame, with the widest point at 205mm diameter approximately two-thirds down the height. The open framework weighs under 1kg, making it suitable for standard UK ceiling roses without additional support.
Manufactured by Ideal Lux in Italy, the Tone-2 carries a five-year warranty. The fitting is dimmable when paired with a dimmable E27 bulb and a compatible dimmer switch on the lighting circuit.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does it take?
The Tone-2 takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb, sold separately. The cage design exposes the bulb fully, so decorative filament bulbs are a popular choice. LED, halogen and traditional filament bulbs all work.
Is it dimmable?
Yes, provided you use a dimmable E27 bulb and install a compatible dimmer switch on the lighting circuit. The fitting itself supports dimming—the bulb and dimmer determine whether dimming actually works.
Can it be used in a bathroom?
No. The IP20 rating means the fitting has no protection against moisture and is only suitable for dry indoor locations. It cannot be used in bathrooms, utility rooms, or outdoor covered areas.
How far does it hang from the ceiling?
The cage itself is 320mm tall. The 770mm cable is adjustable during installation, so the total drop from ceiling to the bottom of the cage can be set anywhere between approximately 400mm and 1090mm depending on how much cable you leave exposed.
