Description

The Tomessa is a long, slim LED bar wall light, 62cm long and 8cm tall, standing 9cm off the wall. Its steel body comes in black and white: a black outer face with softly rounded corners, white on the inside, and a satin-finish plastic diffuser along its lower edge. The LED is integrated, drawing 26.5W and giving 3,200 lumens of warm white light at 3000K, so there is never a bulb to buy or change. It carries an IP44 rating, which means it is protected from splashing water, so it can live in a bathroom or outdoors on a house wall.

Above a bathroom mirror is where this light earns its place. Running 62cm across, it casts its light down over the mirror and basin, a clear band of warm white for shaving, make-up and getting ready in the morning. A qualified electrician will confirm the right zone for your bathroom. The black face draws a crisp line against a pale wall and sits comfortably with black taps, a monochrome scheme or warm wood. Because the IP44 rating covers splashing water, the same light also suits a house wall outdoors, beside a back door or along a terrace, so one clean, modern shape can carry from the bathroom to the outside of the house.

There is no switch on the light itself and it is not dimmable: it runs on 220-240V and is switched at the wall, so it comes on at full output from your existing light switch. As a wired mains light, it is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions are available as a download. The integrated LED has an energy class of E, and the light weighs 2.137KG packed. One practical note before ordering: because it is not dimmable, plan it for a plain on and off wall switch rather than a dimmer.

Frequently Asked

Can the Tomessa go in a bathroom?

Yes. It is rated IP44, which means it is protected from splashing water, so it suits a bathroom wall above a mirror. A qualified electrician will confirm the right zone.

Can it go on an outside wall?

Yes. The IP44 rating lets it live outdoors on a house wall, so the same slim black bar can light a back door or a terrace.

Is the light dimmable?

No, it is not dimmable. It has no switch of its own and is switched at the wall, coming on at full output with an ordinary on and off switch.

How bright is it, and what colour is the light?

The integrated LED draws 26.5W and gives 3,200 lumens at 3000K, a warm white. Being built in, the LED needs no separate bulb.

How big is the Tomessa?

It is 62cm long and 8cm tall, and it stands 9cm off the wall, so it reads as a slim line over a mirror.

Which finish does it have?

The steel body is black and white: black on the outer face, with softly rounded corners, and white inside, with a satin-finish plastic diffuser along the lower edge.
