Description

A small rectangular outdoor wall light, squared off and plain, with a clear lens set into the open face. At 68mm across it is one of the more discreet exterior fittings we sell, and the shallow projection keeps it tucked against the wall rather than standing proud of it. A single GU10 lamp sits behind the lens, taking up to 50W, and the light is thrown as a defined wash rather than a broad spread. It arrives unswitched, so control stays with the circuit it runs on.

We put this one to work at front and back doors, beside garage doors, along side passages and on garden walls where a lantern would look heavy. It handles steps and thresholds well, and sits quietly in a run along a longer boundary wall. It is rated for outdoor use in rain and windblown dust, so an open porch or an exposed elevation suits it. We would choose an LED reflector lamp for it; if you want the light on a dimmer, the lamp itself has to be a dimmable one.

The finish is a fine matt sand black, low in sheen and forgiving of weather, and the clear lens leaves the lamp in view. Upkeep is a seasonal job: wipe the body over with a damp cloth, dry it off, then clear cobwebs and grit from the lens so the output stays where you aimed it. It carries a two year warranty. The same range gives you a curved body if you prefer softer edges, and a sand white finish for pale render and light brickwork. Lamps are not included.
