Description

A compact curved body in sand black, with clear glazing to the front, this is one of the smaller outdoor wall lights we sell. It takes a single GU10 lamp, which means you choose the beam and the warmth yourself, up to 50W. The fine textured black keeps the outline crisp against brick, render or timber while staying quiet in daylight, and the shallow projection means it sits close to the wall rather than jutting into a path.

Sheltered spots suit it best: a porch, a back door, the passage between house and garage, a garden wall where you want light without bulk. It is sealed against dust and splashing water, so rain thrown onto the wall is no trouble. There is no switch on the fitting itself, so it runs from a switch indoors or from a lighting circuit already in place, and a dimmable lamp opens up dimming where the circuit allows. We tend to reach for it in pairs, one either side of a door, in places where a lantern would look heavy.

The housing wears a fine matt sand texture that hides fingermarks and rain spotting, with clear glazing at the face. To keep it looking well, wipe the body and the glass with a damp cloth and dry it off, doing so a little more often near the coast where salt gathers on the finish. It carries a two year warranty. The range runs to a rectangle body as well as this curve, and both shapes are offered in sand white if black would read too hard against pale render. Lamps are not included, and a reflector LED is the sensible choice here.
