Description
The Toils is a 93cm crystal suspension light with seven E14 bulb fittings arranged along a rectangular gold metal frame, from which cascade multiple strands of cut crystal droplets. The frame measures 93.3cm wide by 24cm deep, with a total height of 28cm before the crystal strands, which add substantial visual drop beneath. Each bulb is housed within the crystal curtain, so when lit the crystals catch and refract the light into prismatic patterns across walls and ceilings.
Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and entrance halls with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above, the Toils provides both ambient illumination from the seven bulbs and decorative sparkle from the crystal refraction. The suspension cables are adjustable between 43cm and 68cm drop, allowing the fitting to be positioned 700-900mm above a dining surface or centred in a double-height hallway. The rectangular plan suits long dining tables and island worktops better than circular chandeliers, as the light distribution follows the table length.
The gold finish on the metal frame presents as a warm, mid-tone metallic with slight satin sheen rather than high-polish mirror brass. This pairs comfortably with warm-toned woods, traditional interiors and classical schemes without the formality of polished chrome or the antiqued patina of aged brass. The crystal strands are machine-cut faceted glass rather than hand-cut lead crystal, giving consistent refraction across all droplets. The IP20 rating restricts the Toils to dry indoor locations only.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does the Toils take?
The fitting takes seven E14 (small Edison screw) bulbs up to 60W each, sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K to balance light output with the crystal sparkle effect.
Is it dimmable?
Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulbs chosen and the dimmer switch type. LED bulbs marked as dimmable will work with most trailing-edge dimmers. The fitting itself has no dimmer control built in.
What ceiling height is needed?
The adjustable drop ranges from 43cm to 68cm, and the crystal strands add approximately 20-25cm beneath the frame. For a dining table the fitting typically sits 700-900mm above the surface, which works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above. Lower ceilings can accommodate the Toils if the cables are shortened to the minimum 43cm drop during installation.
How is the crystal cleaned?
Turn off the power at the mains before cleaning. Wipe individual crystal droplets with a dry microfibre cloth, or for stubborn marks use a barely-damp cloth with distilled water. Avoid household glass cleaners or sprays that may leave residue on the metal frame or cable connections.
