Description
The Tilston is a ceiling spotlight bar with four adjustable spot heads, each a rounded steel cylinder on a short stem beneath a slim, straight backplate. Everything is finished in a matt sand colour, a soft, warm neutral somewhere between beige and light taupe. The bar is 58cm long and 8cm wide, so it covers a good stretch of ceiling while staying slender. Each head takes an E14 bulb of up to 40W, and the bulbs are not included, which leaves the choice of brightness and warmth with you. It is rated IP20, so it belongs indoors in dry rooms, well away from water.
Because each head can be angled on its own, one fitting can do several jobs at once: wash a wall of shelves with light, pick out a picture and brighten a reading chair. That makes it a practical choice for a living room, a hallway, a study or a bedroom, anywhere a single central light leaves the corners dim. The sand colour sits comfortably beside natural wood, warm whites and soft greens, and against a pale ceiling it looks gentler than black or chrome would. For anyone who wants directional light without cutting into the ceiling for recessed downlights, this bar gives four beams in one tidy line.
The body is steel, and steel is strong and rigid, which suits a fitting whose heads are moved and re-aimed. There is no switch on the bar itself: it is switched at the wall like most ceiling lights, and it runs on 220-240V, 50/60Hz mains. As a wired-in mains light, it is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a download. Packed, the bar weighs 2.285KG. When you choose bulbs, pick E14 bulbs of 40W or less for each of the four heads, and you can mix warmer and cooler tones as the room needs.

Frequently Asked
Can the Tilston spotlight bar go in a bathroom?
No. It is rated IP20, which means it is made for dry indoor rooms, so it should stay away from bathrooms, showers and anywhere water could reach it.
Which bulbs does it take?
Each of the four heads takes an E14 bulb of up to 40W. Bulbs are not included, so you can choose the brightness and colour temperature that suit the room.
How big is the spotlight bar?
The bar is 58cm long, 8cm wide and 20.5cm high, so it covers a good length of ceiling while staying slim and neat.
Can each spotlight be angled separately?
Yes. Each of the four heads is adjustable, so you can point one at shelves, another at a picture and the rest wherever the room needs light.
Does the bar have its own switch?
No. There is no switch on the bar itself, so it is switched at the wall in the same way as most ceiling lights.
What material and finish is it?
The body is steel in a matt sand colour, a soft, warm neutral that sits well beside natural wood, warm whites and pale walls.
