Description

This watercolour donkey cup brings two shaggy stable donkeys to the table, one dark and one pale, leaning in close with their heads together. The painting wraps the side of the cup in loose, soft brushwork, finished with a few flicks of paint splash around it, so it feels more like a little picture than a pattern. Around the inside of the rim, the words THE STABLE DONKEYS run all the way round in neat capitals, a small detail you notice with every sip. The body is off white with a multi-coloured print, and the cup stands 8cm tall, 13cm wide and 10cm deep, with a generous loop handle.

At 340ml it holds a good-sized cup of tea or a milky coffee, and the wide, round shape opens out towards the rim, which makes it comfortable to wrap both hands around on a cold morning.
