Description
At 67.5cm tall with a 44cm round seat, our Socialite Counter Stool is sized to sit comfortably beneath a kitchen island or breakfast bar of standard counter height. It is designed as a compact perch that tucks neatly away when not in use, and at just 4.8kg it is light enough to lift and reposition with one hand. The round seat rests on four solid tapered legs, giving you a steady, unfussy shape that we find works in busy kitchens as readily as in quieter corners of the home.
This stool comes in a warm Dark Oak, a deeper wood tone that we like for the way it grounds a lighter room and adds a little contrast against pale worktops and painted units. There is no backrest, so the profile stays low and open, and a brass footrest ring wraps the legs to give you somewhere to rest your feet while you sit. Made from solid oak with an aluminium footrest finished in brass anodising, it is built to take daily use, and we have kept the assembly simple enough that most people have it ready in around five minutes. It has passed EN 16139 (L1) testing, so we are confident in its stability under everyday loads.
The Dark Oak carries a natural grain that shows through the finish, so no two stools look exactly alike. To keep the wood looking its best, we suggest wiping it with a soft, slightly damp cloth and drying it straight after, avoiding harsh cleaners that can dull the surface over time. Buy a pair or a row of three along an island for a settled, considered look, and let the brass footrest pick up any warm metal fittings you already have in the kitchen. It is a piece we are happy to stand behind.
