The Tenggarong is a tall, slender metal candle holder in a warm gold finish, made to stand on the floor rather than sit on a table. At 109.5cm tall, it raises a single candle well clear of side tables and sofa arms, so the flame sits where it can be seen across the room. A thin straight rod rises from a flat round base with a diameter of 21cm, and at the top a small cup holds the candle above a wide, shallow disc. The gold has a gently mottled, textured look rather than a high polish, which keeps it soft and understated in a room.

Since it takes up so little floor space, it suits the spots where a lamp or a plant would crowd things: the corner of a living room, beside a fireplace, the end of a hallway or next to a bedroom chair. Two of them either side of a mantelpiece or a doorway give a balanced, formal look, while one alone brings life to an empty corner.
