Description

This porcelain mug wears its message proudly: 'Teaching is my super power' in cream lettering on a bright red apple, topped with a green leaf and a little brown stalk. Around the apple, rainbow stripes in pink, purple, blue, green, orange and red burst outwards across a soft cream ground. The loop handle is the same warm cream and the inside is plain white, which shows off the colour of a good cup of tea. It stands 10cm tall, 12cm wide and 8cm deep, a comfortable everyday size for a hot drink between lessons.

We think it makes a thoughtful thank you gift for a teacher, whether it comes from a single pupil, a whole class or a grateful parent. It belongs on a staffroom shelf, beside the marking pile on a classroom desk or in the kitchen at home, ready for the first coffee of the morning and the well-earned cup at the end of the day. The colours are bright enough to cheer up a grey Monday, and the words are a kind reminder of the difference a good teacher makes, every time the kettle goes on.

Made from porcelain with a smooth, glossy finish, it has a straight-sided body and a generous loop handle. Because the design is printed on both sides, the apple faces outwards whether the mug is held in the left hand or the right, so the message is always on show. For care, we suggest washing it by hand in warm, soapy water and drying it with a soft cloth to keep the colours bright. To give it as a thank you, tuck a few of their favourite tea bags, a bar of chocolate or a handwritten note from the class inside, and wrap it in tissue paper.
