Description

A slim upright tube of opal white glass sits on a compact satin black backplate, so the light reads as a soft band rather than a bright point. The glass stands 215mm tall and the whole fitting projects only 75mm from the wall, which keeps it clear of doorways and narrow passages. It takes an E14 candle lamp up to 40W, and since there is no switch on the body it runs from the wall switch, or from a dimmer if the lamp you choose is a dimmable one.

Splash rated, it is happy in a bathroom or shower room, and we would fit them either side of a mirror at eye height for even light on the face. The narrow footprint also suits a cloakroom, a stair wall, or a hallway where anything deeper would catch a shoulder. Because the opal glass diffuses the lamp along its full length, it fills a small room more kindly than a downward spot. It suits anyone wanting quiet, useful light in a damp room without the fitting drawing attention to itself.

The metalwork is finished in satin black, a low-sheen coat that hides water marks better than gloss, and the shade is opal white glass throughout. Keep it looking right by wiping the glass with a barely damp cloth when the lamp is cold, then drying it off; in a bathroom that is usually all it needs to stay clear of soap film. It carries a one year warranty. We also stock the same fitting in polished chrome, and as a twin version in both satin black and polished chrome if you want a wider spread over a basin.
