Description

Opal white glass forms the slim tubular diffuser here, standing upright on a polished chrome backplate that keeps the whole thing tidy and compact. The glass softens the output without dulling it, giving a gentle glow up and down the wall rather than a hard bright point. At 215mm tall it takes up very little wall, which is why we reach for it where a wider fitting would crowd a mirror or a doorway. The E14 socket accepts a candle lamp of up to 40W, and an LED candle is what we would fit.

It is rated against splashes, so it belongs beside a bathroom mirror or in a shower room, and it is equally at home in a cloakroom, a hallway or on a landing. The upright form suits pairs flanking a mirror or a run down a corridor, and the small footprint helps in a compact en suite where every centimetre of wall is spoken for. There is no switch on the fitting, so it works from the room switch. Dimming is possible provided the lamp you choose is dimmable.

Glass and metal throughout: polished chrome on the visible metalwork, opal white on the shade. Keep the chrome looking right by wiping it with a barely damp cloth and drying it straight away, and go nowhere near it with bathroom sprays or scouring cream, which will mark the plating. The glass will take the same treatment once the lamp has gone cold. It carries a one year warranty. We also stock the same design in satin black, and there is a twin version in both finishes if you want a wider spread of light over a basin. Lamps are not included.
