Description
The Kichler Tangier is a 265mm outdoor wall lantern with an olde bronze frame, crisscross metalwork cage, and four panels of seeded glass behind the lattice. A single E27 bulb fitting inside the glass lantern casts light through both the textured glass and the geometric openings in the frame, creating shadow patterns on the wall behind.
Designed for porches, covered doorways, and garden walls under eaves or canopies, the Tangier carries an IP44 rating that protects against water splashes from any direction. The 169mm projection from the wall means the lantern sits clear of typical doorframes and can be surface-mounted to brick, render or timber cladding with the included back plate. The compact 265mm height suits installations where a larger coach lantern would overwhelm the wall space, such as cottage porches, side doors, and balcony entries in terraced houses.
The olde bronze finish is a dark bronze with subtle copper undertones that softens under warm LED light. The seeded glass carries small air bubbles throughout the panes, diffusing the bulb filament or LED array and spreading a warmer, less directional light than clear glass would provide. The crisscross frame divides each glass face into triangular sections, giving the lantern a Tudor-revival character that pairs with both period properties and modern builds using traditional detailing.
Each lantern is supplied with a wall plate and fixings for masonry or timber substrates. The E27 lampholder accepts any standard screw-in bulb up to 60W, with most installations using a 6-10W warm-white LED to balance light output with running cost. The 3-year manufacturer guarantee covers the metalwork finish and the integrity of the IP44 seal.

Frequently Asked
Can this be used in fully exposed positions?
The IP44 rating protects against water splashes from any direction, making it suitable for covered positions such as under eaves, canopies, or deep porches. It is not rated for direct rainfall exposure over extended periods. For fully exposed walls without overhead cover, consider an IP65-rated fitting.
What bulb is recommended?
The E27 socket accepts any standard screw-in bulb up to 60W. Most users fit a 6-10W warm-white LED (2700K-3000K) for balanced light output and energy efficiency. A filament-style LED bulb complements the traditional lantern design when visible through the seeded glass.
How is the seeded glass different from clear?
Seeded glass contains small air bubbles trapped during manufacture, which diffuse the light source and reduce glare. This softens the appearance of the bulb itself and spreads a warmer, less directional light compared to clear glass panels.
What fixings are included?
The lantern ships with a wall plate and fixings for masonry or timber installation. The back plate measures approximately 120mm x 180mm and requires two fixing points. Plastic wall plugs and screws are included for typical brick or block substrates.
