The Suri is a 393mm outdoor wall lantern finished in textured black composite with a cage-style frame and clear seeded glass. The lantern houses a single E27 bulb (sold separately) behind a protective glass cylinder that shows deliberate seed bubbles and water-effect texturing. The IP44 rating confirms protection against splashing water from any direction, making the fitting suitable for covered porches, garage doorways and patio walls where direct rain exposure is minimal.

Designed as a functional porch light rather than decorative accent lighting, the Suri casts downward and outward light through the clear seeded glass, illuminating a doorstep or walkway without creating harsh glare. The cage frame acts as both a visual detail and a physical guard around the glass, reducing the risk of impact damage in high-traffic areas. The 229mm projection from the wall gives clearance above standard door frames and avoids head strikes when mounted at typical porch-light heights of 1.8-2.0m.

Kichler manufactures the Suri from a UV-stabilised composite that resists fading under direct sunlight and handles coastal salt air without corroding, unlike painted steel fixtures that can show rust after 2-3 years. The textured black finish hides minor surface marks and fingerprints better than gloss finishes. What bulb does it take?

The Suri takes a standard E27 bulb up to 60W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K for porch lighting.

Can it be used in fully exposed locations?

The IP44 rating protects against splashing water but not prolonged direct rain or submersion. The Suri is suitable for covered porches, garage doorways and walls under eaves. For fully exposed positions with no overhead cover, an IP65-rated fitting would be more appropriate.

Is the glass clear or frosted?

The glass is clear with deliberate seed bubbles and water-effect texturing throughout. This diffuses the light slightly compared to plain clear glass but still allows the bulb shape to be visible when lit.

How is it wired?

The Suri is a mains-voltage wall light requiring connection to a standard 230V lighting circuit. It should be installed by a qualified electrician. The back plate mounts to a standard UK outdoor junction box or directly to wall fixings, and the cable enters through a knockout on the rear.
